The 2014 Houston Fringe Festival is now accepting applications!
This year the Houston Fringe Festival is turning lucky number 7. Take a chance and submit to the Fringe!
The Houston Fringe Festival is a five-day event in which performers and companies from any city or country present original artistic work at participating venues in Houston’s East End. The annual festival features over 100 companies and individual artists each year, showcasing talent from Houston and beyond. The Houston Fringe supports both emerging and established performing and visual arts.
All proposed works should adhere to the mission of the Houston Fringe: To present daring and conceptually challenging performances that fit outside the mainstream of theater, music, film, dance and art presented in the Houston area. In other words: the weirder, the better.
Fringe shows and art works will be selected by a team of qualified yet quirky curators. For more information, visit www.houstonfringefestival.org.

Performance Application Information
Virtually any type of theater, dance, film, musical, spoken word, burlesque, comedy, storytelling, improvisation and performance art are encouraged to apply. All shows must be between 15 minutes and 1 hour. If your piece is 10 minutes or less, it may be submitted to the ‘Anything Goes’ Evening on September 28.
Shows will be selected by a committee comprised of distinguished Houston arts community leaders based on several criteria, the most important being quality of work (this includes both the content of your production and your ability to demonstrate that you can produce the show that you are proposing) and Fringe factor. The selection committee will also try to ensure a diverse cross-section of shows.
Works selected will perform a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 times over the 5-day festival, depending on the venue. All venues are equipped with basic light and sound equipment.
Performances selected for the 2014 Fringe will pay a venue fee and technician fee to secure their spot.
