VIVALDI DANCES IN THE PARK AT MILLER OUTDOOR THEATER
Free performance on May 30 features original choreography and live classical music

(Houston, Texas) April 15, 2014 – CORE Performance Company presents the world premiere of Vivaldi Dances in the Park, on Friday, May 30 at 8:30 p.m. at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Drive, 77030. The free performance is a celebration of contemporary dance and Baroque-era music with internationally acclaimed CORE Performance Company and the renowned musicians of Mercury conducted by Antoine Plante. CORE Artistic Director Sue Schroeder and Amanda K. Miller-Fasshauer create dances that are organic and honest, smart and skilled and rigorous and generous. The evening will be a mash-up of gorgeous Baroque era music and superb dance mirroring the architecture of space, all with a dash of Shakespeare.

Miller-Fasshauer, who recently returned to the United States from decades abroad creating dance in Germany, wowed Houston this past November when CORE performed her Liberated Accident at The Barn.

“CORE’s company of six dancers will perform this original choreography and lend their premier contemporary abilities and technique to engage and stir audiences in concert with gorgeous, classic music provided for us by Mercury,” said Schroeder.

TICKETS
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. If tickets remain at 1:00 p.m., the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. Open seating is available on the hill.
