Dance Houston Hosts 12th Annual Festival

HOUSTON, TEXAS – Dance Houston, known for its innovative and multi-cultural programming, brings the area’s most talented and diverse dance companies together at their 12th Annual Festival.Roughly 18 professional and amateur dance companies were hand-selected to perform at Wortham Theater on Saturday, February 8 at 8:00 p.m., with proceeds supporting Dance Houston.

In true Dance Houston fashion, guests can expect to enjoy more than 100 minutes of family-friendly, multi-cultural genres including Bollywood, African, Chinese, Swing Dance, Ballet, Tap, Tango, and much more. Plus, the festival will showcase 11 completely new works from audience favorites like Revolve, Dance of Asian America, and SonKiss’d.

“You won’t see a variety of dance groups like this on the same stage anywhere else,” says Dance Houston President Roslyn Bazzelle. “If you want to learn about dance, experience different styles of dance or get involved with the dance community, Dance Houston is the organization you want to connect with.”

About Dance Houston

Founded in 2003, Dance Houston is a non-profit organization aiming to increase dance appreciation. The 501(c)3 group provides free and low cost dance training to children in need, and raises funds for scholarships to its spring and summer dance camps, where kids learn a variety of dance styles and perform at the Wortham Theater for family and friends.

Dance Houston believes dance is a healthy way to improve self esteem and is good for the mind, body, and soul.
