MET dance to Perform at 2014 Fashion Houston

HOUSTON, TEXAS, November 7, 2014 – MET dance, the leader in the vitality and diversity of Houston’s dance community, is set to perform in the city’s biggest fashion event, Fashion Houston, on November 19th at 7:30PM.  With the world premiere of MET dance’s  “INDIVISIBLE” performance showing at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts (Zilkha Hall) on November 21st at 8:00PM and 22nd at 7:30PM, the dance company will give Fashion Houston audience members a sneak peak of the groundbreaking performance.

This collection of innovative work celebrates MET dance’s solid foundation and continual growth in the quest to create and explore larger issues, while bringing a new direction in dance. With new choreography as the prime mission of the company, MET dance will present the works of both local emerging artists and nationally acclaimed dancemakers – bringing diversity and creativity into one evening.

“We have an ever-expanding and diverse arts & culture scene in this city, in which we are thrilled to incorporate into Fashion Houston,” said MET dance Artistic Director Marlana Doyle. “We are honored to have established a relationship with such a great event, in which we hope to continue for years to come.”

The incorporation of the arts and culture into Fashion Houston is a first for the event, now in it’s fifth year. The fashion event brings together both iconic and emerging designers for one of the freshest fashion experiences in Texas.

“We are very excited to bring a part of Houston’s art scene to Fashion Houston for the first time ever with a performance by the MET dance Company,” said Fashion Houston President and CEO Jared Lang. “We have one of our best lineups yet, and are proud to shine light on the local talent this city has to offer.”
