Texas Academy of Dance Arts Presents The Nutcracker
Texas Academy of Dance Arts Presents The Nutcracker
As the holiday season approaches, there are many things to forward to. Time with family, holiday gift shopping, beautiful decorations, and, of course, Nutcracker performances. Texas Academy of Dance Arts presents its 5th annual performance of the timeless ballet classic, The Nutcracker. Originally choreographed by Marius Petipa, TADA’s ballet program director and former Houston Ballet soloist, Elise Elliott gifts us with a magically choreographed story of Clara, Herr Drosselmeyer, and the Nutcracker.
Come laugh with Fritz as he terrorizes his sister; watch with delight as the Nutcracker squares off against the Mouse Queen in a frightful ballet and be warmed by the falling snows of winter as the snowflakes dance around their Snow Queen. You’ll be struck with enchantment as you experience the Land of Sweets with all of our divertissement culminating with a wondrous performance by our Sugar Plum Fairy, performed by two of our very own YBC Company students.
Featuring Cincinnati Ballet’s Joshua Stayton as our Nutcracker Prince and Cavalier as well as TADA’s Davis Stumberg as our Russian performer, The Nutcracker will be performing December 14th and 15th at McCullough Jr. High’s Nancy Bock Auditorium with showtimes at 6PM on Saturday and 1PM and 5PM on Sunday.
The production also features Texas Academy of Dance Art’s amazing Youth Ballet Company students alongside many of TADA’s young and hard-working ballet students. With 3 shows to choose from, TADA’s Nutcracker promises to be a fun-filled event for the whole family to enjoy. Tickets are now on sale at dancetada.com or https://www.tututix.com/client/dancetada/.
