HOUSTONIANS ARE CALLED TO DANCE FOR PEACE
All are welcome to take part in Planetary Dance on June 2

Houston, TX (April 24, 2019) Core Dance, a professional dance organization, invites Houstonians of all ages and abilities to come together to dance for peace on Sunday, June 2 from 10am to noon in Hermann Park. Now in its 39th year, Planetary Dance is a simple dance that everyone can do co created by Anna Halprin. Known as the pioneer of the postmodern dance movement, Halprin describes Planetary Dance as “a dance for promoting peace among people and peace with the Earth.” Local dancers and drummers will invite those participating to walk, run, or stand in three concentric circles creating a moving mandala. Halprin’s intent is that the group will form a collective body whose every step will become a prayer for healing Earth.

In Houston Planetary Dance will be performed in Hermann Park off Hermann Park Drive on a grassy area located across the street from the main entrance of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, 5555 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, 77030. Where to Park
Free parking is available in Hermann Park near the Sam Houston Monument (Lot A), the large central parking lots in front of the Houston Zoo (Lots G and F), across the street (Lot H), near Miller Outdoor Theatre (Lots E and D) and beside the McGovern Centennial Gardens (Lot C) located on Hermann Drive.
