The Houston Fringe Festival’s annual spring showcase, Best of the Houston Fringe, returns with a one-night engagement in Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston’s beautiful Matchbox Three theater. On May 10, the festival committee will release this year’s new logo colors, merchandise, and a partial line-up of the 2019 Houston Fringe Festival, which will run October 23 – November 10, 2019.

Applications are now open to participate in Best of the Houston Fringe 2019. Artists of all performing arts disciplines are encouraged to submit works of ten minutes or less. This year’s showcase will be emceed by the musical talents of PMT Productions.

To complete the application, fill out the form in the above link and e-mail work samples to adam@pilotdanceproject.org. Link to $25 application fee will be sent once the application has been completed and supplemental materials have been received. Best of the Houston Fringe 2019 will be adjudicated by a three-person artist panel.

All applicants will receive a free Houston Fringe Festival t-shirt from a previous year.         

Seven spots will be reserved for festival veterans and three spots will be held for first-time participants. Due to the volume of applicants, not every artist will be asked to perform. Applicants not selected for Best of the Houston Fringe Festival 2019 may be asked to present their piece during the Anything Goes program in the fall.                                                 

Selected applicants will receive twenty-minutes of technical rehearsal the morning or early afternoon of the performance. Additional spacing time may be requested at least a week prior to the rehearsal/performance date.
