Dance Source Houston (DSH) is pleased to announce that Mollie Haven Miller has been named executive director. With more than an 8-year career as a dance artist, administrator, and volunteer, including 6 years with Dance Source Houston, Mollie is well-prepared to lead Dance Source Houston through its next phase of growth and service to the Houston dance community. “I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to continue serving Houston dance artists, now as the leader of DSH,” says Miller of her role.
“We are delighted that Dance Source Houston’s new executive director comes from within the organization. We have appreciated Mollie’s professionalism and dedication to the Dance Source mission,” says DSH board president and former executive director, Stephanie Todd Wong. “We know that Mollie will be strategic and proactive with dance community leaders in Houston and beyond, and are confident that DSH’s programs and services will continue to be successful under her leadership.”
Dance Source Houston was formed in 2005 with a mission to “nurture and support contemporary dance artists, the organizations that present them, and to identify and build audiences for contemporary dance in the greater Houston area.” In the 11 years since then, Dance Source has developed a multi-weekend festival, artist in residence program, annual workshop series, and tiered membership structure which offers targeted services for individual artists and organizations. Dance Source Houston’s membership has grown to include more than 100 members from all genres of dance.
