Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective Presents “Nature Around Us” – A Captivating Live Dance Theater Production

[Houston, TX] – Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective is proud to announce the upcoming event, Nature Around Us, a live dance theater production set to take place on March 11, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Discovery Green.
Featuring a stellar lineup of performers, Nature Around Us promises to be an unforgettable experience for attendees. The event will showcase captivating performances by Mommy And Me The Listers, the soulful rhythms of The Everlasting Vibez, and will be hosted by the charismatic The Dopest Historian. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, DJ Yung Chris will be providing a captivating soundtrack throughout the event. Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective, known for their commitment to artistic excellence, will also be gracing the stage with their unique blend of creativity and expression.

The goal of Nature Around Us, an extension of The Fairytale Project, is to foster a deeper connection between communities and the natural world. Recognizing the importance of preserving land for future generations and promoting environmental justice, Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective is dedicated to creating opportunities for Black individuals to reconnect with their roots and heritage through a profound engagement with nature, dance, and artistic expression. One of the key components of Nature Around Us is encouraging Black individuals to reconnect with nature as a means of rediscovering their roots. Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective believes that cultivating a sense of connection to the land is essential for personal growth and community empowerment.

At the heart of Nature Around Us is the idea of connecting to rural roots, recognizing the importance of embracing the simplicity and authenticity of life in harmony with nature. As Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective embarks on this journey, they affirm the belief that the south is home to vast biodiversity. Because of its unique landscapes and culture, the south holds the key to our African and Indigenous origins.

About Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective
Nia’s Daughters Movement Collective, founded by Stacey Allen in 2018, is a multigenerational group of like-minded black women dance and multidisciplinary artists with the mission is to create and support art and wellness initiatives through the lens of Black women and girls. Nia’s Daughters was organized to perform culturally competent dance works while telling the stories of Black women and girls. The organization has grown to be a hub for artistic expression across disciplines and a place where collaboration thrives.
