Houston, TX – February 15, 2024 – Frame Dance Productions is honored to announce an exclusive event featuring acclaimed choreographer, dance filmmaker, and educator Rosie Trump, who will be screening some of her latest work and engaging in a discussion about her creative process.

Rosie’s choreography and films have been shown widely nationally, as well as internationally. Feminist and deliberately minimal, her work examines the tension between the ordinary and the absurd. Her practice blends cultural critique, improvisation, humor, and political text with movement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rosie Trump back to Frame Dance Productions for this special event,” said Lydia Hance, Founder and Artistic Director of Frame Dance Productions. “Not only is she a founding board member of our organization, but an artist whose work has been featured multiple times at Frame x Frame, our annual film festival. We are excited to provide our community the opportunity to experience her latest creations in a more personal setting and gain insight into her creative process.”

The event will feature screenings of select films by Rosie Trump, followed by an intimate discussion with the filmmaker. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Rosie and learn more about her inspirations, techniques, and the challenges and rewards of bringing her thoughts and ideas to life through film.

“In my recent work, I’ve been thinking about placeness”, shared Rosie. “Dance on screen has a unique capacity to help us see locations in unexpected, new ways.  I’ve also been working on how to pair analog with digital and 2D formats with 3D formats.”

The event will take place at Frame Dance Productions’ studio located at Frame Dance Studio on Sunday, February 25 at 1:30pm. Tickets are limited, and advance registration is required. To reserve your spot and learn more about the event, please visit framedance.org/workshops.
